Development progress in US$7.24 billion high-speed rail PPP

Italian-Thai Development Company has started early works on Bangkok-Nong Khai high-speed rail PPP project in Thailand. State Railway of Thailand signed the contract for civil works of the high-speed railway development with Italian-Thai Company Development on March 29, 2021. The project will connect Bangkok and Nong Khai (Section 1: Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima). 

Under the contract, the Italian-Thai company will develop a ground-level railway, the maintenance center buildings including 19 railway maintenance systems, 4 control buildings, management systems, 8 buildings for road maintenance, road construction, drainage systems, and demolition work for various utilities. The contract is valued at THB 6.53 billion (US$ 210.63 million).
