Pflugerville City Council has approved Griffin Swinerton/Catellus as the master developer for the Downtown East public-private partnership (PPP) project in the USA.
Griffin Swinerton/Catellus will be the project developer to develop the 29-acre Downtown East, located on the northwest corner of FM 685 and E. Pecan Street. The project includes City Hall, Multi-Generational Recreation Center, and a mixed-use development that will create a place to live, work and play. The project will continue to be developed based on the 19 project goals adopted by the city council and seeking additional community involvement that is planned during the design phase of the project.
Construction in the center of the Downtown East is planned to begin in mid-2024, and the city hall and recreation center are expected to open in early 2026.
