The department of Santander inaugurated the 25 km of a bidirectional single road, the tunnels of La Sorda and La Paz and the Río Sucio viaduct as part of the Fourth Generation project Bucaramanga - Barrancabermeja – Yondó highway concession.
The 25 km that come into service include Functional Unit (FU) 5, which connects the La Paz bridge with the Santa Rosa sector, FU 6, the 3.2 km-long La Paz Tunnel and FU 7, which connects the Río Sucio and Lisboa sectors. These sections also include the 2.2 km La Sorda tunnel and the 660 m Río Sucio viaduct.
The total investment for these functional units is COP1.3 billion (US$338 million).
