The State of Guanajuato has delayed the tender for the Silao-San Miguel de Allende highway project in Mexico. The tender is expected to launch until the second half of 2022.
The project involves the development of a 70-km long highway, which will save half of the traveling time between two cities. The total investment in the project is around MXN5 billion (US$250.53 million). The highway will be designed with the fewest curves for the safety of drivers.
Delay in the tender is due to the review of 167 files of owners who have sold their land, which will take several months. In addition, other planning steps need to be completed such as financial model, technical studies and characteristics of work.
