The Government of Delaware's Department of Technology and Information (DTI) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the provision of affordable broadband access for underserved and unserved residents in the rural parts of the state, located in the north-east USA.

DTI seeks to identify one or more qualified firms to build, operate, and maintain a network to provide broadband internet service in key target areas of the state. DTI estimates that the selected target areas include approximately 127,700 homes and businesses in the rural parts of Sussex and Kent Counties.

The successful bidder will use state funds to construct and procure the network, and commit to operating and maintaining the network, at their own cost and risk, for at least seven years. The submission deadline for the RFP is 4 October 2018. For more information, see the Business Opportunity.
