Declaration of Interest to be published for US$96.5 million Wastewater treatment Project in Chile

The Ministry of Housing, Sanitation, and Construction (MCVS) has issued a tender notice for expanding and improving wastewater treatment in Chincha, Peru.

The project involves an estimated investment of US$ 96.5 million for the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of about 15 km of interceptors, a pumping station, 6 km of pumping lines, and two new wastewater treatment plants with a total average capacity of 0.6 m3/sec, along with 7.7 km of lines for the final disposal of treated wastewater. Residents of Chincha Alta, Chincha Baja, Grocio Prado, Pueblo Nuevo, Alto Larán, Sunampe, and Tambo de Mora will benefit from the decontamination of the Río Chico, reduced waterborne diseases, improved quality of life, and local economic development.

The evaluation process is supported by technical assistance from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the concession will span 24 years: four years for design and construction, followed by 20 years for operation and maintenance. After the declaration of interest is published, interested third parties will have 90 calendar days to submit their EOI in executing the project. Through the MCVS, the State will co-finance the total investment and part of the operation and maintenance costs.
