Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects (KAPP) has extended the deadline due to COVID-19 for a request for proposal (RFP) seeking experienced technical advisers for two IWPP plants located at Az-Zour and AlKhairan. The project involves design, finance, construction, operation, maintenance, and transfer of integrated water and power plant (IWPP) for phase 2 & 3 at Az-Zour North and for phase 1 at AlKhairan site.
The new deadline to submit the proposals is July 23, 2020.
The Az-Zour North site is located at the west boundary of Az-Zour North 1 IWPP and to the North boundary of the existing Az-Zour South power complex, approximately 100 kilometers south of Kuwait city on the Arabian Gulf coast. The project is expected to provide 2,700 MW of power generation capacity and 165 MIGD desalinated water production capacity.
The AlKhairan site is located at the south boundary existing Az-Zour South power complex, approximately 100 kilometers south of Kuwait city on the Arabian Gulf coast. The project is expected to provide 1,800 MW of power generation capacity and 125 MIGD desalinated water production capacity.
The adviser will perform feasibility studies for both projects and whole tendering processes including preparing RFQ documents and evaluation process, preparing tender documents and supervising the technical, financial and legal aspects of the project. The adviser will also assist the authority in financial close.
