Seven consortia have bid to complete the D4 motorway in the Czech Republic inbetween Příbram and Písek. The Ministry of Transport has not disclosed any details of the bidding teams, but has stated that it intends to invite four teams to participate in competitive dialogue.
The 25-year PPP contract in tender covers the design, financing, construction and maintenance of the motorway; the estimated value of the contract is CZK24.9 billion (US$1.13 billion).
The Road and Motorway Directorate is currently preparing for the construction phase of the project. It is expected to complete the purchase of land and get a building permit in the second half of 2019. The Ministry aims to award the contract in July next year.
