The Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) signed the sales contract on October 21, 2022 for the privatization of Companhia Estadual de Geração de Energia Elétrica (CEEE-G) in Brazil.
CSN, through the Companhia Florestal do Brasil, was the winner of the privatization auction held on July 29, 2022, at the B3 headquarters in São Paulo. The winning bid, in the amount of BRL928 million (US$179.82 million), included a premium of 10.93% in relation to the initial amount of BRL836.3 million (US$162.05 million) established in a public notice for the total shares owned by the State. The proposal also covered the payment of granting to the Union, in the amount of BRL1.84 billion (US$356.54 million), referring to the concession of the company's generating plants for a period of 30 years.
