China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) and the government of Nanning in China have achieved commercial closure for the Nanning City Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) PPP project in China.
On December 28, 2015, the opening ceremony of the project was held by the constructor, China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., a subsidiary of CSCEC.
The project, which is the first BRT PPP project in China, involves the development of a 11km BRT line. The new line starts from Nanning Railway East Station and ends at the Nanning Railway Station. It will have a total of 16 bus stops and will connect high-speed railway with the subway line.
The total project investment is estimated at RMB930 million (US$141.2 million).
Nanning is the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. It has a population of approximately 6.7 million inhabitants and it has jurisdiction over 7 districts, 5 counties, and 6 development zones.
