CriteriaCaixa, the holding managing ”la Caixa” Foundation’s business assets, has acquired a 9.4% stake of the share capital of ACS, for a total amount of EUR 983 million (USD 1 billion).
The ACS Group is a global infrastructure operator and service provider, comprising leading companies in the development, engineering, construction, and operation of essential infrastructure projects, along with next-generation solutions. The company has achieved significant geographical diversification, particularly in high-growth potential regions such as North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. ACS has also restructured to focus on expanding into new sectors, including technology and digitalization, energy transition, sustainable mobility, and critical minerals.
This strategic move allows CriteriaCaixa to consolidate its model, which has established a substantial portfolio with significant shareholdings in strategic industries such as banking, energy, telecommunications, and water. The inclusion of ACS in CriteriaCaixa's holdings further strengthens the asset structure of "la Caixa" Foundation, aiming to generate the necessary financial resources for its initiatives.
