Contracts awarded for Cross Island Line Systems Projects in Singapore

Singapore's Land Transport Authority has awarded contracts to Siemens Mobility and ST Engineering Urban for the installation of 4 key systems on the Cross Island Line (CRL).

2 Contracts for Cross Island Line Systems are:

  • Siemens Mobility Pte. Ltd. / Siemens Rail Automation, S.A.U. Consortium (Siemens) was awarded the first contract for the CRL project, valued at US$450 million. The contract covers the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the communication-based train control (CBTC) signaling system and the PSD system. It also includes completing the PSD and signaling systems for the Downtown Line and implementing them for the Downtown Line 3 Extension and the Jurong Region Line.
  • US$200 million 2nd contract, was granted to ST Engineering Urban Solutions Ltd. for the CRL ISCS and communications system. This includes designing, producing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning the ISCS and communications system, which consists of sub-systems such as the communication backbone network, digital trunked radio, video surveillance, public address, telephone, and travel information system. It has already completed the communications systems for the North-South and East-West Lines, Circle Line and DTL, and the ISCS for the Circle Line and DTL. They are also carrying out the ISCS and communications systems for JRL, DTLe, and Circle Line Stage 6.

Siemens and ST Engineering Urban Solutions were awarded the contracts based on several factors, including the competitiveness of their costs, the quality of their proposed solutions, as well as their expertise and track record.
