The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has selected Ferrovial Construction for the US$79 million upgrade of an intersection of the I-85 highway in Atlanta, USA.
The upgrade, which follows a design-build approach, aims to alleviate congestion and reduce accidents at the intersection of State Road 42/North Druid Hills Road and I-85. Additionally, it involves the replacement of an old bridge over Peachtree Creek in DeKalb County. The I-85 Widening, Phase II project will be delivered and open to traffic 4 years ahead of the original schedule.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2023, with substantial completion estimated by August 2025.
