The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) has announced that it will award 10 electricity transmission projects for US$ 1.1 billion in 2023 in Peru.
The transmission line Piura Nueva - Frontera (US$217 million), Enlace Huánuco-Tocache -Celendn-Trujillo and Enlace Celendn-Piura (US$ 611 million) and 2 groups that include 5 projects for US$164 million will be the next projects to be awarded after the electrical projects Enlace Ica - Poroma and ITC Enlace Cáclic - Jaén (US$132 million). The development of these electricity transmission projects will strengthen the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN) and enable energy to be transported efficiently (at lower costs) and with high-quality service from the production centers (generation plants) to the consumption centers (companies and families) without interruptions.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) has also given PROINVERSIÓN responsibility for 18 energy transmission projects that would cost over US$900 million to complete and whose decisions are expected in 2024.
