The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has signed a contract with the Government of Minas Gerais to carry out technical studies and structure the concession of a set of new road sections in different regions of the State, totaling up to 2,400 km in Brazil.
The project encompasses highways situated in the Vetor Norte, Zona da Mata, and Northwest Minas Gerais regions, as part of the Third Round of the Minas Gerais State Highway Concession Program. BNDES will play a role in risk identification and allocation, evaluating project feasibility, including technical, economic, and environmental aspects. Specialized consultancies will be engaged to assess optimal concession models. The project aims to enhance road infrastructure, logistics, and transport services in Minas Gerais through strategic private-sector partnerships. Additionally, the contract allows for the reassessment of projects involving the potential concession of up to 1,109.5 km of highways in São João del Rei, Lagoa da Prata-Itapecerica, and Patos de Minas-Arcos regions.
