Qatar’s Public Works ‘Ashghal’ and Urbacon Trading and Contracting Company signed a new contract to construct the second package of the Qatar Schools Development Programme within the Public-Private Sectors Partnership for 14 schools, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
As part of the project, five primary schools will be designed, constructed, financed, and maintained in South Al Wajba, Muaither, Al Thumama, Al Meshaf, along with four preparatory schools in Muaither, Al Gharrafa, Al Aziziya, and Rawdat Rashed. Additionally, three secondary schools are planned in Ain Khaled, Muaither, and Al Thumama, along with two science and technology schools in Al Sakhama and Rawdat Al Hamama. The new school facilities will feature 30 classrooms, including ones for students with special needs, accommodating approximately 786 students based on approved designs. They will also include various educational facilities such as science, language, and IT laboratories, as well as sports, art, and multipurpose halls, libraries, classrooms, and outdoor spaces with shaded car parking, sports stadiums, and service facilities. Modifications in both external and internal designs will be made, including adjustments to flooring and internal wall colors to suit students' age, thereby enhancing the learning and psychological environment with a positive impact on educational outcomes.
These schools aim to deliver high-quality education to over 10,000 students, becoming operational in the academic year 2025-2026.
