The Egyptian government has signed a US$120 million deal with Renergy Group Partners (Reenergy) and the National Authority for Military Production to develop the waste-to-energy power plant in Abou Rawash, Giza, Egypt.
The consortium, in collaboration with the Ministry of Military Production, Green Tech Egypt, and Oak Group Holdings, will construct, own, and manage the project for 25 years. Once the contract period is over, the plant's ownership will be transferred to Giza Governorate.
The plant will treat 1,200 tons of households’ solid waste per day to electricity as part of Egypt Vision 2030.
