The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) has signed a contract with PAVLOS N. PETTAS S.A. for the purchase and sale of the former construction site of the Rio – Antirrio connection project.
The company emerged as the top bidder in February 2023, offering EUR 2.8 million (US$ 3 million) for the property. This amount exceeds by more than double the bid made in the previous tender process for the same property and is notably higher than the independent valuation.
The seaside property, formerly the primary construction site of the Rio – Antirrio bridge, spans approximately 165 acres and is situated in the Municipal Unit of Antirrio within the Municipality of Nafpaktia, in the Region of Western Greece. It shares borders with the settlement of Agios Panteleimonas to the northeast and Antirrio to the southwest. The property's strategic location near the Ionia Odos motorway and its potential for maritime transport infrastructure development present significant development opportunities.
