Contract Signed for parking PPP project in Saudi Arabia

The Riyadh Region Municipality, represented by its development arm, Rimat Riyadh Development Company, and the National Parking Company for Management, Operation and Maintenance Limited, has signed the contract for the construction, operation, and transfer (BOT) of the car parks project in Al-Ulaya district in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh Municipality has installed over 60 solar-powered parking payment machines and more than 180 guidance panels within the first two weeks of the Riyadh Parking project's trial phase. The initiative spans over 2,000 paid public parking spots on commercial streets and 17,000 unpaid spaces in nearby residential areas. The project aims to improve urban living by organizing public parking, reducing illegal parking, and enhancing traffic flow.

The Riyadh Municipality launched Phase I of the Riyadh Parking Project to create and manage over 24,000 public parking spaces in public and commercial streets, in addition to the management of more than 140,000 parking spaces in nearby residential neighborhoods. The first phase covers 12 areas distributed across the Al-Wurud, Ar Rahmaniyyah, West Olaya, Al-Murooj, King Fahd, and Al-Sulaimaniyah districts, in addition to four other areas in the southern neighborhoods of Riyadh.
