The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports, and Vilnius City Municipality have signed an agreement with the BaltCap Infrastructure Fund (BInF) for the Vilnius sports complex concession in Lithuania.
The project involves the development of an 85,000 sqm multifunctional sports complex, also known as National Stadium. The concession period for the project is 25 years with an estimated investment value of EUR280 million (US$323.62 million). The CAPEX estimate is around EUR100 million (US$115.65 million).
The project will be implemented by BInF company Vilniaus daugiafunkcis kompleksas, under the Design-Build-Finance-Operate (DBFO) model, and is expected to be completed within three years after the financial closing. After commissioning, the concessionaire will operate the complex for 22 years. The complex will have a 15,000 seats UEFA IV category stadium with a sports museum, a 3,000 seats IAAF stadium, outdoor- indoor sports facilities, a kindergarten, and a culture-education center for the local community. The architects of the project are Cloud architects and Populous.
