Egis together with valued consortium partners, signed the contract for Project Consultant (PC) services with the Mass Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) for the MRT Orange Line Project, Bang Khun Non–Min Buri (Suwinthawong) Section.
Egis is leading the technical aspects of railway systems, including system assurance, system integration, and operations and maintenance (O&M). The team also includes local firms MAA Consultants, Index International Group, Chotijinda Consultants and Thai Transit Solutions.
The project spans 35.9 km and is divided into two sections. The eastern section, covering 22.5 km with 17 stations (10 underground and 7 elevated), is already completed. The western section, 13.4 km long with 11 underground stations, faced delays. The eastern section's operation is expected to start soon, while the western section's construction is set to begin in early 2025, aiming for full operation by 2030. The project includes a 30-year public-private partnership for operations and maintenance under a net-cost model.
