The government of the Republic of Sakha has announced the signing of a concession agreement on the design, construction and operation of a bridge across the Lena river in Yakutia, Russia.
The agreement was signed with the concessionaire VOSMAYA KONTSESSIONNAYA KOMPANIYA, which will be engaged in both the construction of the bridge and will control the operation. The project includes a bridge crossing with a total length of more than 3 km and the length of approaches is 14.7 km. The transport artery will be two-lane with an estimated capacity of 6,067 vehicles per day. The life cycle of the project is 25 years, 6 years will be allocated for design and construction and 19 years for operation by the concessionaire.
The bridge crossing will reduce budget costs. The commissioning of the bridge can increase passenger traffic by up to 8 million people a year.
