The Government of Alberta has signed a contract with Concert Infrastructure, the lead investor and manager of the Concert-Bird Partners, to deliver five high schools in Alberta, Canada using a public-private partnership (PPP) delivery model.
The project involves the design, build, finance and maintenance of five Alberta high schools located in Leduc, Blackfalds, Langdon and two in Edmonton. The PPP project is expected to be operational in 2024. The schools will accommodate nearly 7,000 students, and their design includes sustainable considerations and energy conservation systems and methods with the aim to achieve LEED Silver Certification for each school.
The contract is for a period of 30 years. The Concert-Bird Partners consortium team is formed by Concert Infrastructure Ltd., Bird Capital Limited Partnership, Bird Design‐Build Construction Inc., Wright Construction Western Inc., BR2 Architecture and Ainsworth Inc.
