Baker Hughes announced that it has awarded a multi-year contract with Dubai Petroleum Establishment (DPE), for and on behalf of Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP), to provide integrated coiled-tubing drilling services for the company’s Margham Gas storage project.
The project enhances Dubai’s energy security by improving the system’s flexibility transitioning between natural gas and solar power. Baker Hughes’ coiled-tubing drilling services further strengthen its role in the Margham Gas project. In addition to supplying Integrated Compressor Line (ICL) units for gas storage, injection, and export, the company’s comprehensive portfolio contributes to a stable, lower-emission power system.
The project leverages Baker Hughes' expertise in coiled-tubing and under-balanced drilling, utilizing its advanced CoilTrak™ bottomhole assembly system. This technology enhances horizontal drilling by improving navigation through subsurface formations, optimizing reservoir contact—an essential factor for efficient underground gas storage.
