The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) has awarded the TP Lambayeque Consortium – made up of the Instituto de Consultoría SA and Garrido Consultores SRL – the contract to prepare the studies that will identify the need and viability of implementing a Lambayeque Port Terminal in Peru.
The US$530 million project intends to promote sustainable regional development through the offer of foreign trade services, especially the export of mining and agro-industrial cargo, within its sphere of influence that covers the regions of Lambayeque, Amazonas, Cajamarca and Loreto.
The successful bidder will explore the potential for developing logistics or production infrastructure in the Lambayeque Region. The consultant will be tasked with reviewing the demand to be addressed in the Lambayeque Port Terminal's Master Plan and proposing enhancements to ensure the unit's development aligns with the region's actual needs and growth potential. The study is expected to be completed by December 2024. To achieve this, the consultant will analyze studies related to the Lambayeque Port Terminal to identify future cargo handling potential, conduct a comparative analysis with the Salaverry and Paita terminals, and investigate potential new users.
