Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) has awarded an EPC contract to Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) for the Construction of a New Integrated Terminal Building and Associated Infrastructure at Shirdi International Airport, Kopargaon, Kakadi, Maharashtra, India.
The upcoming new passenger terminal and associated infrastructure at Shirdi Airport, spanning 55,000 square meters, will have the capacity to accommodate 1200 passengers per hour, with 600 arrivals and 600 departures. This capacity represents a fourfold increase from the current levels. Presently, Shirdi Airport ranks as the fourth busiest airport in Maharashtra, trailing behind Mumbai (BOM), Pune (PNQ), and Nagpur (NAG).
The basic groundwork to begin after the monsoons end with full-fledged construction starting in Q4 (October – December) 2024.
