The NSW Government has awarded the construction contract to the joint venture, formed by CIMIC Group company of CPB Contractors and Downer, for the Warringah Freeway Upgrade project in Australia.
The contract has a total value of AUD1.18 billion (US$855.07 million), from which around AUD800 million (US$579.71 million) will generate as revenue for CPB Contractors. The project involves the redevelopment of a 4-kilometer freeway and associated infrastructure, including a bus lane and active transport links for cyclists and pedestrians. The upgraded road will reduce congestions and simplify the road corridor.
Construction work is expected to start at the beginning of 2022 and will take approximately five years to complete.
