Sacyr Concesiones has been selected as a winner for the Ruta 78, Second Santiago - San Antonio Highway Concession project in Chile.
With an investment of US$892 million for a maximum variable term of 32 years, the project covers an area of 171.4 km and will benefit a population of about 1.7 million people per year. The road is a fundamental axis for the transport of cargo between Santiago and the Port of San Antonio and for the urban areas developed around the route. The aim is to improve safety and reduce travel times.
The concession involves the improvement, construction, maintenance and operation of the new and existing works of the highway. The scope of the works includes the improvements of several sections of the highway, the expansion of roundabouts, the construction of new links and branches to the ports and the replacement of the Manuel Rodriguez Bridge and new links.
