Contract awarded for tolling system in Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) has awarded a contract to Plenary Infrastructure Belle Chasse (PIBC) to upgrade, operate and maintain the tolling system on LA-1 to Grand Isle. The new contract is an extension of the current contract of PIBC and LADOTD for the development of the new Belle Chase bridge and tunnel replacement project. 

The company is responsible for the following scope of works: modernizing the existing tolling infrastructure, updating and providing back-office systems, as well as operations and maintenance services, including the operation of the Customer Service Center in Golden Meadow, LA. The new toling system will work with GeauxPass transponder program and will include new features. 

The contract is awarded for 25 years, from which 2 years are for construction and 23-years for operation & maintenance, with the option to extend.
