Casablanca Transport Company has announced that Casa Transport SA awarded Colas Rail a contract to build low-voltage systems for lines T3 and T4, part of the Casablanca tram system.
The project involves the study and installation of low-voltage systems on the track, including video surveillance, sound system, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), multi-service network, time synchronization and telecommunications. The third tramway line - T3 - will be 14 km long and will connect Boulevard Abdelkader Essahroui to Casa Port station through the city center with 20 stations and five multimodal connection points. The fourth tramway line - T4 - will be 12.5 km long and will connect Boulevard Okba Ibnou Nafiaa to Parc de la Ligue Arabe via Boulevard Mohamed VI with 19 stations and four transfer points. For the construction of the T4 line, two structures need to be built at the level of the intersection of the ONCF tracks and the A3 motorway.
The total cost of the project is 15 million euros, it will last 30 months. Lines T3 and T4 will enhance the public transport offer of the city of Casablanca, which is home to almost 4 million people. Work to complete the two tram lines will be completed in 2024.
