The NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) has awarded a GBP350 million (US$435 million) fiber and mobile connectivity contract to BT to deliver public sector connectivity across the country.
BT's investment in upgrading its infrastructure will result in faster fiber and mobile connectivity to even the most remote areas of Scotland, aiding the Scottish Government's digital goals. This investment will connect 22 NHS Scotland boards, over 900 GP practices, and 278 general and community hospitals to the network, which will improve public health services' efficiency and lower costs.
The SWAN program will drive benefits for communities across Scotland, making sure that no one is left behind and can access the benefits of technology.
