The Royal Commission for Riyadh City awarded two of its three program/construction management (PMCM) mega-contracts to a Parsons-led joint venture (JV) called the Riyadh Metro Transit Consultants (RMTC) in Saudi Arabia.
The consortium comprises three transit project management and construction management consultants, namely Parsons, Egis, and Systra. RMTC was awarded three out of the six lines, representing 60 % of the total metro program, and is overseeing two significant design-build consortiums. The portion of the program managed by Riyadh Metro Transit Consultants (RMTC) involves the project controls teams who are mainly responsible for finance, safety, quality, and project controls.
The modern, transportation network equipped with the latest technology in an urban setting will be formed by the automated/driverless network consisting of six lines, 85 transit stations, and seven rail depots, spanning 176.5km in total. This network will serve as the backbone of the city's transportation system.
