The city of Macapa in Brazil has awarded the public lighting PPP to a consortium formed by Enel X Brasil, Mobit, and Selt Engenharia. The consortium will be responsible for the modernization, efficiency, expansion, operation, and maintenance of a new lighting system infrastructure in the municipality of Macapa. The project will benefit 500,000 inhabitants from a higher quality service. The scope of works also involves the development of a remote management system on the main roads.
The consortium offered a bid for BRL 429.3 thousand (US$ 76.50 thousand) which was higher than four other bidders. In two years, the concessionaire will have to replace 34 thousand lighting points in the park with LED luminaires, with greater energy efficiency, generating a reduction of approximately 47% in the municipality's energy consumption.
