ACCIONA has announced that it wins a contract to construct a second section of the railway line with a 16 km overpass connecting Malolos with Clark International Airport in the Philippines, 50 miles north of the capital Manila.
The project is to reduce travel time between Manila and Clark International Airport to one hour. It is expected that greenhouse gas emissions from these flights will be reduced by more than 60,000 tons per year. The contract value is US$656 million. The project will be led by a joint venture led by ACCIONA, which also includes the Korean group Daelim. The contract is financially supported by the Asian Development Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
It is planned that the construction of the project will take 4 years.
