The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in Greece has awarded the contract for the Hersonissos-Neapolis road PPP project (Northern Road Axis of Crete).
The consortium GEK TERNA-AKTOR CONCESSIONS-INTRACAT, formed by Gek Terna Group and Aktor Concessions, has won the contract. The team will be responsible for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance (DBFOM) of a road under a 30-year PPP contract.
The project involves the development of a 26 km section of the Northern Road Axis of Crete that connects Hersonissos to Neapolis. With the estimated cost of EUR359.6 million (US$384.44 million), the project also includes the operation and maintenance of the Hersonissos – Naples road section.
