The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has awarded to Metito the Hamriyah seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plant restoration project in the United Arab Emirates.
The selected partner will be responsible for the design, procurement, construction, site erection, inspection, testing, and commissioning of the project. The SWRO plant has a capacity of 20MIGD which will enhance the sustainable water supply in the emirate of Sharjah.
Metito will be responsible for dismantling and replacing the existing equipment and structure, renovating the SWRO system, and implementing additional membranes in eight skids. It will also upgrade the electrical system to accommodate new equipment and integrate a Distributed Control System (DCS). The construction work is expected to begin in May 2022.
