Balfour Beatty has won a contract to build the 17-storey, 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida, USA.
Balfour Beatty was appointed by two southern Florida developers, Terra and Turnberry, who intend the hotel to anchor the beachfront Miami Beach Convention Center District. The hotel will include 12 floors of rooms and 52 suites overlooking Miami Beach, four floors of conference rooms and ballrooms that will complement the conference center, a resort-style pool deck with panoramic views, a signature restaurant, a lobby lounge and a bar, as well as a limited amount of retail space that energizes the area at street level. The design-build team also includes Arquitectonica, Stonehill Taylor and EoA.
Work on the project has already begun, and vertical construction will begin in 2023 and be completed in 2025.
