Contract awarded for extension of M1 Pacific Motorway in New South Wales

The Transport for New South Wales (NSW) has awarded the contract to a Joint Venture (JV) of Gamuda and John Holland for the extension of the M1 Pacific Motorway in NSW, Australia.

The scope of work includes:

  • 10 km of greenfield dual carriageway motorway between the M1 Motorway at Beresfield and Tomago, major interchanges at Blak HIll, Tarro and Tomago; and
  • construction of nine bridges including a 2.6 km-long viaduct across Hunter River and the floodplain.

The estimated cost of the project is AUD1.029 billion (US$693.56 million). Gamuda has a 40% share in the JV with the remaining 60% held by John Holland. The construction is expected to start in Q2 of 2023.
