The municipality of Ghent in Belgium has selected TotalEnergies for the installation and operation of electric vehicles public charging stations.
The project involves the installation of 800 new public charge points by 2025. TotalEnergies will be responsible for the operation of the stations during a period of 10 years. Required electricity for the stations will be supplied with 100% renewable electricity generated by an offshore wind power plant located in the North Sea off the coast of Belgium.
In order to optimize the existing network, the City of Ghent will also analyze the usage rate of EV charging stations already in operation to determine if the current offering should be reinforced with additional charge points in certain districts.
