Contract awarded for E03 Boknafjord Tunnel PPP Project in Norway

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has awarded the contract for the E03 Boknafjord Tunnel project to a joint venture (JV) in Norway.

The project includes an 8.6 km long tunnel with two tubes and a 125 m long road section in the surface area. The JV consists of Implenia (80%) and Stangeland Maskin (20%). The total order volume is around CHF375 million (US$405.5 million), Implenia's share is around CHF300 million (US$322 million).

Implenia is responsible for the excavation and driving work as well as for the interior work of the tunnel. Stangeland Maskin will be responsible for transporting the excavated material and constructing the road, including drainage work. 

The Tunnel is expected to start this month and is expected to be completed in 2030.
