The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and Australian governments have awarded a contract to build the Molonglo River Bridge in Canberra, Australia.
The project includes a 227.5 m bridge, 1.7 km of new arterial roads, 5 new intersections, an infrastructure upgrade for future light rail connection, 2 new bus stops and active travel links with off-road shared paths and on-road cycle lanes.
The US$172.7 million contract is funded equally by the Australian and ACT governments. Detailed design is expected to be complete by the end of 2023 then bridge and road approaches are anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025.
