Hitachi Rail has been awarded a major contract (CP04) worth around JPY114 billion (US$814 million) by the Department of Transportation in the Philippines.
The contractor will be responsible to deliver Electrical & Mechanical Systems and Track Works, including digital signaling for the new commuter railway from Solis to Malolos.
CP04 will cover around 35.4 km and nine stations on the North-South Commuter Railway, a 147 km commuter line from Calamba to Clark, and will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
