Sacyr has won the contract for the rehabilitation of the Canal de Dique PPP project in Colombia.
The scope of work includes the rejuvenation of the 116 km long and 100 m wide Canal de Dique which passes through Bolivar Province in the north of the country, connecting the Magdalena River with the Caribbean Sea.
The project aims to restore degraded ecosystems in nearby areas and reduce the flooding risk for the protection of riverside communities. The concession period for the project is 15 years.
The estimated cost of the contract is EUR690 million (US$726 million).
