The Public Works Authority of Qatar, Ashghal has selected the Metito consortium to deliver the Al-Wakra and Al-Wukair wastewater treatment PPP concessions. Metito led consortium comprises UCC and Mitsubishi and will provide Build, Operate, and Transfer (BOT) services for a period of 25 years.
The consortium will be responsible for the development of treatment plants with the capacity to process up to 150,000 cubic meters of sewage per day as well as terminal Terminal Pump Station, Wakra Sewage Treatment Works and treated Sewage Effluent management facilities to produce high-quality Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) and to produce treated sludge that can be disposed of in a landfill, used as fertilizer, or incinerated as needed.
