The Renfrewshire Council has sought to procure an experienced private sector partner to form a long-term joint venture partnership with the Council to drive the development of a 74-acre site at Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS) in Renfrewshire, Scotland City, UK.
The Council is seeking a partner who is enthusiastic about the prospects presented by AMIDS and can contribute their expertise to identify and negotiate terms with suitable employers located at AMIDS. They should be capable of financing and overseeing the development of user-specific buildings, as well as managing the ongoing evolution of the district to ensure its quality and ambitions remain aligned. AMIDS is envisioned to elevate Renfrewshire into an economic powerhouse within Scotland's industrial heartland, creating wealth and opportunities for Renfrewshire, the Glasgow City region, and beyond. The joint venture will engage in a Pre-Development Services Contract with the Council, specifying the terms under which the joint venture will provide the necessary services to develop and deliver Phase 1A, Phase 1, and the rest of the AMIDS development.
AMIDS, located in Renfrewshire as part of the Glasgow City Region, occupies a core site of 52 hectares near Glasgow International Airport, benefiting from excellent rail and road connections. Ongoing infrastructure investments, including the construction of the first-ever opening road bridge over the River Clyde, are underway in the surrounding area. Positioned as Scotland's hub for manufacturing innovation, AMIDS has already attracted innovation and research facilities, with both the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) and National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) recognizing the opportunities it offers.
