The Ministry of Infrastructure in Ukraine has awarded the Risoil-Kherson LLC (a company composed of Risoil and the Georgian Industrial Group) the concession of the Port of Kherson project under a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme after the approval from Supreme Court of Ukraine.
The contract award was announced in January 2020, but due to suspension order issued by Sixth Appeal Administrative Court of Kiev, the contract signature was not completed. But on May 12, 2020, the Supreme Court of Ukraine has nullified the order issued by Administrative Court and allowed Ministry of Infrastructure to proceed with the original decision.
The contract signature is expected to be completed in six months. The concession seeks to attract investments in the state-owned port infrastructure facilities, increase the value of the facility at the expense of the private capital, and the implementation of advanced management and improvement of the quality of the port services.
