The Ministry of Public Works and Communications has announced that the 95% of the construction works have been completed for the Pilar Coastal Defense Diversion Canal Project in Ñeembucú, Paraguay. The construction of the 15 km long diversion channel involved 3,000,000 m³ of excavations, 450,000 m² of plastering on slopes, as well as 450,000 m² of geogrid with hydroseeding.
There are three 40 m long reinforced concrete bridges along the course of the diversion, each of which is executed to an average of 85%. They are found in the following sections: Pilar-Costa Pukú (Bridge 1); Pilar - Umbú Island (Bridge 2) and Pilar - Boquerón (Bridge 3).
CTC consortium is in charge of the Coastal Defense and has completed 77.52% of the project.
