The Lagos State Government in Nigeria has announced its plan to start the construction of Lekki-Epe International airport located near Lekki Deep Seaport next year.
The project will be developed over an area of 3,500 ha with a capacity of 5 million passangers anually. The new airport will be complement the expansion of sea links in the state.
The new airline will be 49% owned by Ethiopian Airlines, 46% by the Nigerian Sovereign Fund, and 5% by the Nigerian federal government.
