Survías Maule-Ñuble Concession Company has started construction works for the second Concession of Route 5 Talca-Chillán Section. Responsible for the second concession of Route 5 Talca-Chillán Section, Survías Maule-Ñuble company is made up of the companies CRCC International Investment Co. Ltd. and China Railway Construction Corporation.
With an extension of approximately 195 km, which considers the new byipás in Talca of 56 km, the new concession will improve the safety and service standards of the route, through the extension to third lanes in a 30 km section, of a new Maule Bridge, junctions, returns, walkways and bus bays with acceleration and braking tracks and service streets, drainage projects, lighting and landscaping, among others.
The Second Concession of Route 5 Section Talca-Chillán will also benefit users of the route as of today through a reduction in the value of tolls and the release of payment in the side tolls of Talca I (Varoli ), located at km 253, and Talca II (Tobacco), at km 256.
the first concession of this route was in charge of Ruta del Maule Sociedad Concesionaria SA. And the current contract has a variable term model and a maximum duration of 32 years.
With the transfer to the new concessionaire, the Definitive Engineering development begins, which should allow to start the works during the first semester of 2025. In this way, the construction of the new structures and improvements should generate an average of 350 jobs per month. , with a peak of 500 positions per month in 2027.
