The Ministry of Public Works and Communications in Paraguay has announced that the placement of beams in the access viaducts of the Héroes del Chaco Bridge is in the final stage.
The placement of the last beams on the left bank (Costanera Norte) are planned to be completed this week, which will join the viaduct with the avenue connecting the bridge with the Botanical Road Corridor.
The Héroes del Chaco Bridge is a 600 m cable-stayed bridge that is being built over the Paraguay river connecting Asunción and Chaco’i. The bridge will have two access viaducts, the section on the right bank (Chaco'i) is 1,500 m long whereas the section on the left bank (Costanera Norte) measures 300 meters. The scope of the project also includes a 7 km road connecting the Costanera Norte de Asunción to the roundabout on the route between Falcón and Remanso.
The Union Consortium, comprising CDD Construcciones and Constructora Heisecke, is in charge of the project.
